Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accuracy and integrity of Ontex North America's financial records through ownership of key accounting processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, GR/IR clearing, and tax reporting support. This role partners closely with Finance and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting while identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items with business partners.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Oversee GR/IR clearing activities in SAP and investigate discrepancies between goods receipts and vendor invoices.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Support tax reporting activities in partnership with external tax advisors.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen controls and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience with balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, or month-end close processes.
- CPA certification or progress toward certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
