Weekend Shift Production Team Leader

As we continue being 'Here for you’, we’re looking for a Production Teamleader to bring P.R.I.D.E. to our team in Buggenhout.

Why this role exists

As a Production Team Leader, you play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality operation of our manufacturing lines. You lead a team of 15 to 25 production operators and technicians across 4 to 6 production lines, creating an environment where people can perform at their best.

You inspire your team to achieve operational excellence while fostering a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement. Through your leadership, you contribute to delivering the highest standards of quality, productivity and employee engagement.

What will you do?

Every day brings new challenges and opportunities. As a Production Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of production operators and technicians.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and actively contribute to our ambition of zero accidents.
  • Complete First Aid training and provide support when required.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Monitor production KPIs, analyse performance and initiate corrective actions where necessary.
  • Identify training needs and support the development of work instructions and training materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reducing production losses, eliminating waste and improving processes.
  • Ensure Lean Manufacturing principles (PDCA, SMED, 5S, OEE, etc.) are consistently applied on the shop floor.
  • Coordinate production activities, including changeovers, repairs and planned maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Logistics, Planning, Engineering, Quality and HR to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Take ownership of operational decisions and respond proactively to changing production priorities.
  • Report directly to the Production Unit Leader.
  • Work in the Weekend Day Shift and demonstrate flexibility when operational needs require it.

In this role, you are not only responsible for achieving production results—you also help build an engaged, motivated and high-performing team.

What do you need to succeed?

Education & Experience

  • Technical secondary education or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles such as PDCA, SMED, OEE and 5S.
  • Experience working within ISO-based management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production performance indicators.
