To reinforce our Procurement team we are looking for a North America Logistics Strategic Buyer.

The North America Logistics Strategic Buyer role is a new position and will ensure the efficient and cost-effective procurement of logistics, HR, Investment, Facilities services necessary for the company's operations. This includes managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
What is the scope of the job?
The role involves managing a significant pool of vendors for Tijuana and Stokesdale plant, focusing on logistics services, including transportation (inbound and outbound), warehousing, 3PL, brokerage and distribution, and the main other service contracts. The North America Logistics Strategic Buyer will work closely with various departments, mostly supply chain, HR, Maintenance, Sales, Finance, Engineer, to ensure that logistics needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
What am I expected to deliver, and what are my main tasks?
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for the main Services to ensure cost savings and efficiency.
- Build Business cases for Logistic services (transportation, broker, distribution) to help Ontex team to take the best decisions for the business.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure they are met.
- Manage the procurement process, follow the DOA, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures

The North America Logistics Strategic Buyer will work closely with various internal stakeholders, including Supply chain managers, Procurement, HR, Sales and Finance teams. They will also interact with external suppliers and negotiate contracts and manage relationship.
How complex are the situations I’m dealing with, and how do I solve problems?
The role involves dealing with complex service contracts, such as building business cases for new opportunities, negotiating contracts, opening bids, screening vendors, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The North America Logistics Strategic Buyer will need to use their problem-solving skills and industry knowledge to address these challenges effectively and the 7 sourcing steps methodology.

What do I need to be successful in this job?
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in logistics procurement or a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
