Quality Lab Technician - 12hr Night Shift (6:45pm - 7am, 2-2-3)
We’re looking for a Quality Lab Technician - 12hr Night Shift (6:45pm - 7am, 2-2-3) to bring P.R.I.D.E. to our Quality team.
Job Description
Why does this job exist within Ontex?
Ensuring that the products placed on the market meet the specifications agreed with the customer. In case of deviations, communicate these in a timely manner so that the products can be blocked internally and cannot reach the customer.
How big is the responsibility of the job?
You perform standard lab tests on finished products, raw materials and samples and report on these results.
In case of deviations, you are responsible for:
- Report the results to the head of department and the Autonomous Manufacturing Unit (AMU) team
- Request appropriate actions from the AMU team
- Check whether the actions taken are sufficient to obtain the correct performance
- Carry out re-test
What is expected of me and what are my main tasks?
- Carrying out lab tests on finished products with the necessary precision, so that we can deliver them to the customer according to specification.
- Conducting lab tests on raw materials.
- Conducting lab tests on samples of complaints, sample requests,…
- Ensure proper maintenance of all lab equipment: cleaning, verification, calibration,…
- Supporting R&D/validation projects.
- Registering all obtained data with the necessary accuracy
- Able to make independent decisions based on lab results obtained
- Take actions in case of non-compliant results:
- Communication of deviated values to production / technical department
- Start research via troubleshooting
- Indicate which actions can be taken
- Initiate retests
- Reporting out follow up information
- Reporting trends and anomalies during daily meeting
- Other duties as required.

What do I need to be successful in this job?
What is the expected level of education for this job?
- Technical degree (or equivalent through experience).
What experience is needed for this job?
- 3 years of experience in a quality or technical environment. Experience in a lab environment is a plus
What technical skills do I need to master?
o Use and knowledge of the various IT tools used within Ontex Group (SAP, Microsoft Office, …)
o Working according to ISO procedures (QMS system).
o Correct reporting of deviations.
o Take appropriate actions in case of deviations (Communication to production and technical service)
